If we go back through the designer notes for the major changes Ubisoft made to Jager, they seem pretty aware of the problems, while also explaining why they didn't target his gadget at first. Jager but Ubi doesn't understand that and nerfed his gun to the ground. With guns Ubisoft just nerf and buff guns according to pick and win rate but some ops are chosen for their gadgets not guns ie. You're better off asking when they clearly don't understand something if they would like a suggestion. But even in those cases, if you assume a player needs the help because that account's level is low, you may insult them whether they are new or not.
The only area where level might be a good thing is if a low level plus a clear misunderstanding of the game led to you offering to help the person. I would let it slide.Īnd if they were level 251, you wouldn't let it slide? How would you react if you feel somebody should "know better" based on their level but they are still doing stupid stuff? Your implication is that you would be bitter and/or treat them in a negative way if they weren't new to the game, which is the EXACT reason why removing the display of other player's level was a good idea. If someone does some stupid stuff but they're a lv51 in ranked. Just so you know I do respect players of all ranks but seeing levels does give you a sense of how good the players are. They seem to focus on what we don't need right now, seriously who asked for that new hud and new redesign. I like and understand some changes they make but some just feels unjustified and some are just forgotten ,Nokk to this day is still waiting for her rework. Before that they gave the mx4 storm an 1.5 scope which obviously made it op then they proceed to nerf the recoil instead of just removing the 1.5. To this day I still don't understand why they had to nerf Sofia's m762 to the ground which just made people go play the lmg with acog. What guns were nerfed for no reason? As I mentioned in my first point, most of these changes are outlined in the designer notes. Remember when ubi didn't constantly nerf guns for no reason? And if all of those things were good, that player was "a sweaty tryhard." Any time somebody wanted to be toxic toward another player, having level, rank, W/L, K/D readily accessible was easy fodder to harass people. Having this information visible in game was a big source of toxicity. What benefit did knowing the other player's level and rank provide for you? Would you play or treat others differently if you knew they were a silver 3 versus a gold 2? Remember when we could see friends and enemies levels?
You may not like the reason or may not pay attention to the avenues where they explain their rationale, but the devs generally make these kinds of changes alongside a designer notes section on the Ubi website.
